Hot Wheels 'Challenge Accepted'!

Hot Wheels fans get ready to accept the challenge with this fun subscription box from Pley!

We were kindly gifted this Hot Wheels 'Challenge Accepted' subscription box for purpose of review from Pley. The box is priced as low as $22.99. All opinions and images are our own and completely genuine. This post contains affiliate links.

I have to start off by saying my 5 year old son is beyond obsessed with Hot Wheels. I'm kind of embarrassed to even guess how many Hot Wheels cars we have!! Thankfully baby sis has grown to love them too (not that she has a choice!). So when Pley offered to send us a Hot Wheels 'Challenge Accepted' subscription box to test out we were pretty excited!

The boxes work on a bi-monthly system, costing as low as $22.99, with the idea being that over the course of several boxes, kids will have enough track, cars and cardboard pieces to make a pretty awesome mega stunt track. Our first box included two cars (one was a cool 50th anniversary special edition car), a Hot Wheels mega-mat, a t-shirt, a keychain and a fun activity book. The really cool thing is that the box itself transforms into an open-ended stunt base!

Of course the first thing my son wanted to do was open the cars! He was so excited to test them out on the mega-mat. Although there were some serious discussions about who got which car!

We have several car mats already, but the novelty of having an actual Hot Wheels one was pretty exciting! I will say that the material it is made from is quite thin, so I'd definitely recommend taping it down to the floor to avoid it slipping around.

This box did not come with track so we decided to get our own track collection out so that we could build some fun stunts with the box. It's very easy to pop out segments of the box which then transform into stunt parts. The coolest part was how the box itself can be turned into a tunnel!

My son proceeded to make ramps and test out how far his new cars could jump.

Where this subscription box really shines is how it encourages kids to get creative with different materials. My son was so passionate about making the biggest ramp possible, but was also patiently testing the limits of science and engineering. When his ramp didn't work, he would reassess and try again.

At one point he went running off to the toy room and came back with his Picasso Tiles. He carefully experimented with using the tiles to support his ramp. This showed great resourcefulness and creativity.

Once he was done with all the stunt play, my son enjoyed looking through the activity book. There was a good range of activities for different ages in the book. Of course all my son was interested in was picking out the next car he wanted!

As you can see, the Hot Wheels 'Challenge Accepted' subscription box is a great way for car enthusiasts to enjoy some fun STEAM learning. I'd definitely recommend this for Hot Wheels fans, but remember that you will need to sign up for a few months to receive enough materials to make a fun stunt track. We can't wait to receive our next box and add to our collection!
