A really simple drawing activity to have in the bag to buy a few moments peace when out and about or travelling on holidays.
Funny faces drawing prompt. |
What you need:
- one piece of A4 white card or paper, cut into four
- black marker to draw a picture frame style border
- facial feature stickers (ours are from Michaels), if you can't find the stickers just draw parts of the face on by hand or cut them out from magazines or old photos
- crayons, pencils or markers
- Ziploc bag
How it works:
This proved to be a great little busy bag to buy my husband and I enough time to enjoy our coffee out this morning (we even managed a whole conversation uninterrupted!!).
My son enjoyed choosing which face he wanted to add to. He liked the silly moustaches, glasses, hats and beards that were already on the page. He took his time adding the missing facial features using his beloved red crayon. He tried to make the face as silly and funny as possible.
Adding eyebrows under the eyes to match the equally silly wobbly lips. |
Very amused by his own comical additions. |
Red eyes were a must. |
We often just take a few toys out but this was a nice way to engage my son in something different and to further develop his drawing skills as well as improving his understanding of facial features and emotions.
