My son has been working so hard to learn how to write his name accurately so I thought we would have some fun with name recognition by playing a family game of name bingo.
Name Bingo is a great family game. |
What you need:
- letters in a pot (we used magnetic ones but any kind will work, or simply write letters on pieces of card)
- a name bingo card for each player
- marker pens
How to play:
1. Cover your eyes and pick one letter from the pot. Players take it in turns to do this.
2. Say the letter out loud and ask if anyone has that letter in their name. Even if you were't the one to pick out the letter it still counts towards your name card.
3. If the letter is in your name use a marker to trace over the letter and then cross it off your bingo card.
4. The winner is the first person to have all of the letters on their name card crossed out. They then have to shout 'name bingo' and spell out their name.
If you have older children you could leave the name bingo cards blank for them to write out their own names at the start of the game. You could also add last names too.
