The Dot Dash

A colourful and fun challenge to enhance fine motor control and mark making.

Dashing around the dots as fast as possible.

What you need:
dab markers
- A4 white card
- black marker
- orange marker

How it works:
This idea was actually inspired by my son challenging me to draw lines around his shape drawings without bumping into them. Using the dab markers made it really quick and easy to create the dot 'maze'. I simply drew a start box and finish box and challenged my son to draw a line from start to finish without bumping into any of the dots.

Once he got the hang of it I asked him to see how fast he could do it and told him it was now called the 'dot dash'. If he touched a dot he had to go back to the start.

The dot 'maze'.
At the finish box.

After he had tried my dot 'maze' several times he asked if he could make one for me to try and dash through. Of course this was his favourite part, trying to make it 'super duper hard' for Mummy to make it through the maze quickly.
