Adding some water to our Lego table injected a whole new burst of energy into our brick-based play last night.
Lego boats floating. |
What you need:
- selection of Lego bricks, characters, chairs, steering wheels, propellers, and small baseboards
- tub of water
Our DIY Lego table was perfect for this activity as the water and bricks could be side by side.
How it works:
As this was an invitation to play there was very little instruction given to my son. I simply challenged him to build a boat that would float in the tub of water. He loved this challenge and carefully considered how to make his boat float. The first few boats quickly filled with water but then he made two successful floating boats, one of which also had a space shuttle launcher!

It was so much fun watching what a difference it made simply by having some water next to the bricks. It really brought new life to our Lego play.
