- 'Aliens Love Underpants' by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort
- white card
- black permanent marker
- scissors
Neon Kwik Stix
Classic Colors Kwik Stix
- string
- clothes pegs
- wooden dowels

Have you read the book 'Aliens Love Underpants' by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort? It's a silly book, which explains why both my kids love it! On one page of the book there is an illustration of a washing line full of colorful underpants, with the aliens zooming down in their spaceships to steal them. This was our inspiration for a fun book-themed craft.

I drew and cut out a selection of underpants styles and put them out along with the book and our Neon Kwik Stix and Classic Colors Kwik Stix. These underpants needed to be as colorful as possible!

There was much discussion about who should decorate which style of underpants! We had lots of fun making them full of color and talking about who we thought they might belong to, just like in the book.

The Kwik Stix made it super easy for the kids to add color to the underpants, minus the mess of paint. Kwik Stix are also great as they dry in 90 seconds which helps to avoid smudging- especially helpful with baby sis who is 18 months.

Once all of the underpants were decorated, we headed out to the garden to place them on our washing line. The washing line was simply string attached to two wooden dowels. The kids helped to attach their underpants using clothes pegs. Then we waited for the aliens to visit...
