Fresh Air Adventures with Pulse Performance Products

I try to incorporate as much outdoor play as possible into our daily family life. We are lucky enough to have a long driveway on a quiet road and many beautiful parks nearby, so we often enjoy a bike ride or kick-around after-school. My son also enjoys riding his scooter, but baby sis has recently claimed that as her own and to be honest it is much too small for my 5 year old now.

Thankfully the kind folks at Pulse Performance Products sent him a KR2 Freestyle Scooter to test out!

This model is a 2-wheeled freestyle kick scooter which has oversized handlebars, making it ideal for beginners. Or as is the case with my son, ideal for kids who are moving from a 3-wheeled toddler style scooter. The stable design really helped to build his confidence early on in the ride.

Let's start with the look of this scooter. My son was very excited with the blue and white design, immediately referring to it as his 'professional scooter'! He knew it was a step up from his 3-wheeler and couldn't wait to test it out.

There are many safety features which made me feel very comfortable with my son riding this scooter. There is a grip tape deck surface to help ensure that there is no chance of the rider slipping off the scooter. This was pretty useful as it was so muddy at the park where we were riding!

There is also a well-designed foot brake on the rear wheel which helped my 5 year old to come to a safe and smooth stop. He was a little bit hesitant at first but he soon got used to the balance required.

It was great to see my son so confidently riding a 2-wheeler within minutes!

If you search for this scooter on Amazon you will see a fairly mixed bag of reviews. All I can say is that our experience so far has been excellent. It looks professional, rides well, and is excellent value for money at $35. It was easy to assemble and feels very sturdy and well made. It sure did stand up to an enthusiastic test ride today!
