Give Drawing an Extra Glow with MagicPads!

There is something so exciting for kids about turning off the lights and seeing something glow. Well imagine the crazy levels of excitement when the thing glowing is their own artwork!!

We were kindly gifted two MagicPads for purpose of review. All opinions and images are our own and completely genuine.

Do your kids love playing in the dark? Mine are obsessed! Whether it is camping out in their room with all the lights off, taking their favorite toys into the dark closet, or having a glow bath... darkness is their jam!

When I came across the MagicPad I was really intrigued by how well it would work. Both 22 month old baby sis, and 5 year old big brother were kindly gifted one to test out. Let's just say the MagicPad really is pretty magical!

The kids of course were immediately in love with the fact that they could easily control the lighting colors. Simply press the white button on the front of the unit and the light color changes. There are 8 light effects in total.

Then came their excitement at being able to do their very own glow in the dark drawings! You get three double-ended markers with each MagicPad, giving your kids six colors to draw with. Big bro and his Dad loved drawing their own futuristic sports cars!

The unit itself is sturdy and kid-friendly. You can use the stand to encourage them to create on a more vertical surface which is beneficial for their fine and gross motor movements, as well as their co-ordination and creativity.

We had a blast as a family creating glowing portraits of each other. One of us would hold the MagicPad up to our face, while the other added accessories and facial features. Such a great way to encourage collaborative creativity!

To be honest I think my kids would have been perfectly happy with just freely drawing on their MagicPads, but it was such an added bonus that each unit comes with 30 stencils. These stencils range from pictures to color, games to play and literacy and numeracy templates to encourage learning. My son loved playing tic-tac-toe and was so engaged with his glowing numbers.

So what are the negatives about this product. Not much really! It ticks all the boxes for me when I am looking for a product which will inspire creativity and engage my children's imaginations. My only comment would be that the markers aren't washable on clothing so just be cautious with little ones. The product is recommended for 3+ but I think you can just judge that as a parent. This would make a great gift for any creative kiddo in my opinion!
