Celebrating the end of a year is always a mixed bag of emotions for me. I love looking back at what we have achieved as a family, but I also feel sad at how quickly my kids are growing up. This year my little baby turned into a toddler, and my son started Kindergarten! So many big changes. Of course I caught lots of these sweet moments on camera, but I really wanted to do something memorable with the images.

I teamed up with Pinhole Press to show you some hands-on ways to help your kids reflect on their year, and set some goals for the next one.

All About My 2018 Books
I will cherish these books for so many years to come! I made one each for my 22 month old and my 5 year old. The book includes 10 spreads where you can personalize the photo and the reflection prompt. I loved that I could adapt the text to suit my kids' ages.

I loved seeing baby sister's animated reactions as she studied the pictures of herself as a baby at the start of the year! She had so much fun using all of her new words to tell us what she could see.

Big bro spent most of his time saying 'can we do that again' and 'I want to go back there'. He had forgotten just how much we had done together this year!

We plan to sit as a family and complete the reflection prompts on New Year's Eve. I can't wait to see what answers they come up with! It will be so fun to look back on their books in years to come!

It is worth noting that Pinhole Press also do an All About Me Photo Book for kids which could be great for other milestones such as birthdays or the arrival of a new sibling.

Polaroid Magnet Set
These are so fun! I opted for the set of 12 and added a picture of my two kids together from every month of 2018. I had a blast picking out the photos! Nothing makes me happier than seeing my two kids smiling and laughing together.

They loved looking through the pictures and reminiscing about what they'd been up to together throughout the year. They excitedly pointed to their favorite memories.

I then set them the challenge of trying to arrange the magnets in the correct month order. They studied how old they looked in the photos and big bro did a great job sounding out the months as well.

I'm so happy to have these displayed in the kitchen, and I can't wait to add another 12 memories at the end of 2019!

Photo Sticker Books
Some of my favorite memories of 2018 are from our time spent being creative together as a family. Over the past few months both kids have been so passionate about coloring and creating. I couldn't wait to present them with their own personalized photo sticker sketch books.

Each book comes with 30 blank pages and 8 sheets of personalized photo stickers. I chose to make the books 'Adventure Books' with 8 fun headshots from the year for the stickers.

I wanted the kids to use the stickers to inspire their drawings in the notebook, placing themselves in different adventures and scenes. Their first job was to choose a sticker for the cover.

Then it was time to get creative and enjoy using the headshot stickers as inspiration for their drawing and coloring.

Big bro was so into this! He designed superhero costumes, drew family portraits, placed himself in cars, and even made himself part of a multi-headed vampire monster!

Baby sis was obviously a little more limited in her drawing abilities. She sure is a fan of stickers though. We worked together as a family to help her place the stickers and color in some fun characters.

The kids also loved swapping their stickers to draw and color each other in their notebooks! I love that we can keep these personalized masterpieces for years to come.

You could of course make the stickers all different family members or friends. It would be such a great activity for a kids' table, or even a family reunion souvenir!

Memory Match Games
We are finally at the stage where we can enjoy family games nights and I'm so excited to now have two personalized memory match games in our collection. These are so easy to make- simply choose 12 photos to upload onto the website, you can crop them if needed, and that's it! This was a great way to collate some meaningful images from the year.

Big bro was delighted with his set of family member cards, excitedly squealing the names of his nearest and dearest.

We have always lived very far away from family, but thanks to the power of FaceTime my kids have grown up with with strong relationships. These cards are already one of his prized possessions!

Baby sis has also developed some pretty strong relationships this year... with her beloved stuffed animals! It may seem silly to use these for her game, but getting kids engaged requires them to be familiar with, and passionate about, what they are looking at!

She was sooooo happy looking through the cards and matching them up!

She even decided to pair them up into friendship groups as well!

I'm going to share all the different ways that we get creative with our memory match games in a separate blog, as there are so many fun activities to do! For now my kids enjoyed simply using the cards as discussion prompts, matching the pairs and of course playing memory match. They genuinely do love these personalized cards!

I hope this has left you feeling inspired and full of ideas for reflecting on your family's year. I owe Pinhole Press a huge shoutout for providing my family with some truly magical ways to reflect on 2018, and look forward to 2019.
