Learning the Basics of Light with 3DuxDesign

There's nothing quite like dealing with the real deal when it comes to circuit components. Read on to learn more about 3DuxDesign architecture kits.

We were kindly gifted this 3DuxDesign Electricity 101 LED Lights Kit for purpose of review. All opinions and images are our own and completely genuine.

We have been following along with 3DuxDesign's progress since their early days. I love that this business is comprised of a Mom, Son and Daughter, with the kids being high-schoolers when it first launched. They are genuinely on a mission to help make architecture and STEM accessible to kids of all ages. They are soon to launch this cute new LED Lights Kit and we were more than happy to test it out for them.

The kit comprises of an info sheet, explaining the basics of circuits and electricity to kids. This was fun to read through first with my 5 year old so that he actually understood what he was doing and why it was causing the lights to shine. Then came the fun part- building his very own little dog house with working lights.

He was obviously way too excited to build the whole dog house, so we just built the front part and added the LED lights to begin with. What I love about the 3DUXDesign products is that they are 100% catering for kids' ability levels. The tasks are simple and achievable, which meant my son could be hands-on with the project and get that all important sense of achievement.

He built the LED light circuit by following the instructions, with all necessary materials being included in the box. He was really into the project because he was getting to use real circuit materials. Then he was ready to start constructing the little house for the toy dog which came with the set. It was fun that he had a focus for the building project, it really brought out his imagination.

To build with the cardboard, you simply attach pieces using the connectors which are made using a 3D printer. Baby sis decided to make her own little house for the dog using the connectors- proof that 3DuxDesign encourages even the youngest of builders!

The final stage pf the project was for big bro to add his own personal touch to the dog house by decorating it. We used our Kwik Stix as they dry in 90 seconds and enable lots of bright colors to be added.

Once the dog house was fully decorated, it was time to enjoy some creative play!

This set is simple and engaging for kids, the perfect combination for younger STEM learners!
