Straw Sucking Colour Sorting

Super simple colour sorting activity that is nice and quick to set up.

The set up.

What you need:

- coloured tissue paper cut into small squares

- straw

- tray with compartments (you could just use a paint palette)

- my son also enjoyed the activity using tongs

The activity:

I just simply told my son that he had to try and sort the pieces of tissue paper into colours by using the straw- i.e. he couldn't use his fingers to pick up the paper. At first he tried using the straw to push the pieces but found this difficult. As soon as I mentioned the word sucking he knew what to do and had fun. 

The little clever clogs then disappeared and came back with some tongs from his play kitchen to finish off the activity with.
