Colour Bombs

Putting all those left over plastic eggs to good use by making exploding colour bombs for the bath tub.

What you need:
- Crayola Colour Dropz (we got ours from Toys R Us)
- plastic eggs
- water (we did ours in the bath but a plastic storage tub would work too)

How it works:
I simply cut up one of each colour of the colour dropz into approximately four pieces each. Then I put various colours and colour combinations into the plastic eggs (some only had one colour, some had two and some had all three).

Small pieces of colour dropz in each egg.

I then put a small amount of water in the egg and closed it. Be warned, the eggs have little holes in the bottom! To avoid mass colour leakage I kept all the eggs in a big bowl together before use. Some water did leak and gather in the bowl but there was still plenty left in the eggs as I used them relatively quickly after making them.

I presented my son with the bowl of eggs when it was time for his bath and told him that he had colour bombs to play with. His face was brilliant when he popped open the first one and blue colour exploded into the bath water.

Blue colour bomb explosion.

He enjoyed trying to guess which colour each egg would have inside and gave a running commentary on the overall colour of his bath.

Green colour bomb explosion.

Once all the bombs had exploded there was still lots of fun to be had just scooping and tipping with the eggs. He even enjoyed filling them with water from different parts of the bath and asking me to guess what colour would explode out of the egg.
