How it works:
I can remember making DIY Christmas crackers as a child. It's such a fun way to add a personal touch to the table decor, as well as being a huge source of excitement for kids! The crackers are simple to make and can be filled with any small craft or play objects. Here's how we made ours.
Start off by wrapping the toilet paper roll in tissue paper, tucking the excess into the ends, and taping the join.
Filling the cracker can be a bit of a brain buster. We found it best to put the tape in first, and then wrap the paper and stickers around the Kwik Stix paint stick.
Now simply put the bell on top to add the final touch of festive magic!
Then wrap the entire inner cracker in your Christmas wrapping paper, making sure you leave over-hang on the ends.
Finally, twist the ends of the wrapping paper and add some ribbon! That's it, your Crafty Christmas Cracker is done!
My kids always have a blast when materials are presented in a new and novel way. I can't wait for them to enjoy these as they wait for the holiday feast to be served!
