This simple process art method is easy to set up and so fun to repeat over and over!
What you need:
- muffin tin
- acrylic blue and green paints
- paint brushes
- paint palette
- white card
- scissors
- a mat or a tray to contain the mess (we used our trusty Messmatz)

With Earth Day approaching we thought we'd make some of our own process art mini earths. This activity was inspired by @100daysofartbar. In preparation I cut the card into small squares and added the blue and green paints to our paint palette. I did this activity with my 5 year old and he loved the novelty of painting on the muffin tin!
As he painted we talked about what the different colors represented and added some context by talking about our location and what was near us.
After he added his paints to the tin, he would place a piece of card on top and push down on it gently.
The next stage was to carefully peel off the card to reveal the cool earth print.
It was neat to see how each one was so different. It was also cool that you could just keep painting over the previous earth on the muffin tin!
The end effect was a fun mixture of colors and textures, really making them look like little earths. I'm looking forward to giving this a try with my 2 year old as well.
