Puffy Popping Potion

Put some 'pop' into that next potion your kiddos make, and why not make it extra puffy while you're at it too!

What you need:
- shaving cream
- popping candy
- fun selection of Halloween potion ingredients (we used eye balls, skulls, witch fingers and spiders)
- scoops and skeleton arms for stirring
- some sort of mat or tray is a good idea as it can get messy (we used our PlaSmart MessMatz)

How it works:
Before I go any further I have to say a big thank you to @happi_crafts for introducing us to the awesome combo of Pop Rocks candy and shaving cream! It is such a brilliant way to add an extra sensory experience to potion making!

We started off with a big cauldron full of shaving cream. The kids added their chosen flavors of Pop Rocks and eagerly anticipated the popping explosions. They weren't disappointed and loved stirring in the popping candy to make it pop even louder.

Then it was time for them to add some spooky ingredients to their potion. They carefully placed their Halloween accessories in the cauldron, giggling and talking about what their potion would do to anyone who drank it.

They continued to work together using their skeleton arms, mixing the ingredients and making up spooky stories. 6 yr old big bro was particularly animated about this!

I purposely held back a pack of the popping candy so that they could keep adding a little more once all of their ingredients were in.

They then had the good idea to serve up their potion into small portions in their own little cauldrons. This was great for their fine motor skills and sensory exploration.

This really was a unique twist on potion making. Thanks again to @happi_crafts for the idea!
