Valentine's Goodies to Make Little Hearts Flutter

Looking to fill your kids' Valentine's goodie bags with something a little different? Here's three cute ideas to share the gift of creativity with your little sweeties and their friends.

This post contains affiliate links. The products were kindly gifted to us, but we are regular and enthusiastic users of them ourselves. The bags and sticker gift tags used are personalized from Pinhole Press and were also gifted to us. All opinions and images are genuine and our own.

This year we were lucky enough to get to make our own personalized Valentine's photo goodie bags with Pinhole Press and they turned out super cute! You can use code 'LITTLEMINDS20' to get 20% off your order.

It always seems like a tough decision when it comes to Valentine's goodie bags. I like to send my son to school with cards and a small creative gift for each child. I have nothing against sending candy or a toy, I just personally love sharing creative products which I know my kids have enjoyed and benefitted from. In previous years we've done cute notebooks, stickers and markers, and also one year we gifted a pot of play dough, heart cookie cutters and a fun selection of sequins. This year we thought it would be fun to include three of our favorite play products which inspire creativity in the hope that they would send little hearts fluttering!

If you follow us on Instagram you'll know how much we use these super cool liquid activated light up toys. Drop them in water and they light up, take them out and they stop glowing! They have a glow life of approximately 8 hours.

Kids love the novelty of Glo Pals, it's like a glow stick but with an on/off button! We use them in the bath tub, for sensory bins, DIY reading lanterns, glowing water balloons and so much more! Each pal works out at approx. $2 with my discount code 'LITTLEMIND15'. They are available in five different colors, and you can get the free printable 'Pal-entines' cards to attach them to here.

These small Playfoam party packs are ideal for individual squishy play! My kids only recently discovered Playfoam and they love it. Even with a small pack like this, kids will come up with endless creations and it is a great material for sensory exploration and fine motor skill development.

Each small pack works out at just under $1, with the foam lasting for a long time when kept sealed. If you wanted to add a little something extra, teaming up the Playfoam pack with a small heart cookie cutter or even a few small animals or action figures could make for lots of creative play. In the box you get a mixture of blue, green, purple, yellow, orange and pink packs.

If you want to include a gift which ticks the STEM box then this certainly does that! These cool Reactor Pods by Learning Resources start bubbling and foaming when dropped into water, with kids getting to search for a hidden creature. Once they find the creature, they use the informational poster to identify it and learn about it's habitat and existence.

When my kids tested these out they thought they were pretty darn cool! They loved the big colorful reaction, as well as the surprise of there being a hidden creature inside. These do work out the most expensive addition to the goodie bag at a little under $3 per unit, but I definitely think they are worth it!

I hope this has given you some inspiration to make goodie bags filled with engaging and novel products to help spread the creative cheer! It gives me such a buzz sharing these fun products with my son's friends. Have a great Valentine's Day!
