Juice Mixologist

My little man is definitely a juiceaholic! He loves nothing more than being allowed to choose a juice box at the supermarket. I thought as a treat it would be fun to let him experiment creating his own juice flavours by mixing his favourite juices together. Needless to say this activity was a massive hit!

The set up.

What you need:
- a selection of juice boxes
- some empty cups, pots or jugs
- water
- straws
- plastic wands for mixing

The activity:
This was an invitation to play so I didn't really give my son any instructions as such. He naturally started by opening and tasting the juices and quickly realised that he had empty cups. My son loves pouring and mixing so he spent ages just experimenting by mixing the different flavours together.

Pouring out the juice into cups.
Aaaaaaa tastes good!
Mixing flavours in his mouth.
Sugar rush!

Prompt questions:
As he did this we spoke about the following things:
- how the colours changed
- the smells
- the flavours and tastes
- which creation was his favourite and why
- which creation did he not like and why
- comparing two juices side by side
- how full or empty his cup was
- what happened to the colour and taste when he added water to his juice mixture

Comparing our juices.
Adding water to his juice creation.
Casting a spell on his juice.
Cheers!
